Pacific Beaches and Forests

There are many wonderful beaches across the Pacific Coast from Cathedral Cove to New Chums Beach where the light and weather conditions change frequently providing a series of ever changing photographic choices.

Whether its capturing the golden light of the early sun reflecting off the rocks and waves, long exposures of the shifting seas and clouds or close up shots of the many birds that inhabit the Pacific coastline.

For nature photographers or those seeking to capture the serene beauty of the native forest, it’s a wonderful place full of flowers, insects, streams and waterfalls.

The mighty Kauri, one of the most ancient and massive trees in the world grows only in the upper North Island. The Puriri Tree, also only found in the upper North Island, is a curative and sacred to the Maori.
